A Sad and Happy Moment

Well, Emma is now past the 6 month mark. She is starting to really come alive the last couple of weeks by trying to start to crawl, talking a lot, and even walking with us holding her hands. She is on a pretty good routine every day and is super happy as long as we stick to it! The sad thing about reaching this point is that my time at home is now half over already. It seems like yesterday that she was born, not 6 months ago! I love getting to see her grow every day and going back to work is not going to be a happy time at all (sorry for any of you co-workers that read this, but it's true!)

Emma had her 6 month shots last week and now we get a break and don't have to do that again for another 6 months! She also saw the Dr and he was super happy with her progress. He said she is quite far ahead for development and she is slowly getting up on the charts with her weight... she is now 25.5 inches long and 14lbs 3 ozs.

The fun stuff starts now... we have started Emma on some foods! She started cereals a few weeks ago and loved them... so we tried green beans to start the real stuff... needless to say she was not impressed! She spit it back out and made the funniest face ever! So the next day we thought we would try carrots... same deal! We weren't giving up that easy though, and pushed through with them and now today she ate them really well! We gave her some bananas today too (to give her hope that some foods taste better than the veggies) and it was the same reaction, but after a couple spoons she decided it wasn't so bad. I think after a week or so she will realize it's all pretty good and we will have a hungry machine!

They have backfilled our backyard now... and should start building soon. Shall be exciting!

We get Gracie tonight so we are looking forward to that! We get some visitors from Winnipeg for Thanksgiving too, so she is super excited for that! Will update later with an update of our adventures with company!
